All tips given the month of November will be donated to the Brooke Bergman family of North Star. Brooke is 16 years old, has two younger sisters Allison and Claire, and daughter to Kevin and Gwen Bergman. She is a junior at Versailles High school.
On September 18, 2024 Brooke was in an automobile accident. It resulted in a traumatic brain injury, along with many broken bones including her femur, pelvis, tailbone, sternum, and seven ribs. She was in the ICU at Miami Valley Hospital for ten days and underwent two surgeries to help mend her broken bones including getting a plate and screws in her pelvis and a rod in her femur. She was then moved to the trauma floor for an additional nine days. She is currently at the Ohio State Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital in Columbus where she will stay for at least a month. She has a feeding tube, trach, and still has been unable to talk. The goal is to be able to start outpatient occupational, speech, and physical therapies after November 8th, which she would need to do three times a week. Brooke still has a long road of recovery ahead of her, and would be grateful for continued prayers.
Brooke plays travel basketball and softball, is an assistant officer in the Versailles FFA Chapter, is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a member of the St. Louis Youth Ministry, and will be inducted to the National Honor Society. She works at ACE Hardware in Greenville. She loves spending time with little kids, her friends, and her family. Your generous donations will help pay for Brooke’s ongoing medical bills.
