All tips given the month of December will be donated to the Ethan Kemper family of Chickasaw. Ethan is 19 years old, son to Paul and Lori, and has three other siblings: Justin, Chelsea, and Hope. He was a 2024 high school graduate.
On Sept. 17, 2024 Ethan was in a single vehicle accident. He was found ejected from his car hours after his accident and was taken to the local hospital where they then care-flighted to Miami Valley in Dayton. He caught pneumonia, had a traumatic brain injury, bruised lungs where they had to put chest tubes in to drain the blood in his lungs, and broken collar bones. On Sept. 18 he was put on an ECMO and put on a ventilator to help him breath. Sept. 23 he was given a trach. Sept. 26 he was removed from the ECMO and started making small body movements and two days later he squeezed his hand and finally woke up. Oct. 3 he caught an infection in his left lung and was put on medication, and could also open his eyes and follow movement. The chest tubes were removed Oct. 4, and by Oct. 8 he was taken off of the ventilator. He was stepped down from an ICU room Oct. 12 and could sit assisted for a short time. Oct. 14 he started with a high degree fever and had to be brought back to an ICU room and put on the ventilator. Oct. 21 his fever continued and was given a second antibiotic and they put in a second chest tube to drain the fluid to try to remove infection in his lungs. He was finally removed from the ventilator and removed the chest tubes on Oct. 29. Nov. 5 Ethan was moved to Kindred Hospital of Dayton. Shortly after, on Nov. 17 Ethan caught a serious infection from his feeding tube and was moved back to Miami Valley Hospital where they gave him a new antibiotic. All of this time, the doctors have also had a hard time treating his blood sugar levels because of his Type 1 Diabetes. Ethan continues to fight and move forward, but there have been many setbacks. Please continue to pray for Ethan and his family, as well as everyone in hospitals during this Christmas season.
Ethan enjoys hanging out with friends, playing guitar, listening to music, watching Bengals football, and playing video games. Your generous donations will help pay for Ethan’s ongoing medical bills. Thank you and God bless!
